’94/’95 300 4×4 maintenance help

So my wife's wonderful inlaws dropped off the ATV that I grew up on for me to get it running again for my wife's mother in-law to plow snow while her husband is off on the road for work.

Unsure what year it is ('94, '95) 300 4x4 ATV. Sticker on headlight is gone. How can I find out what exact year it is? Snowmobiles go off of serial #.

He supposedly took out the starter solenoid, can anyone on here that has this same year and model take a photo of their solenoid so I can see where this thing is supposed to be located at? He has a hard time starting with the basics, see example below!

I'm in for a treat here, 4 years ago, he dropped off his snowmobile for me to get it running again, told me it needed new injectors, well the dang thing set for 1 full winter so the fuel drained out of the injectors and fuel lines, all it took was tad bit of fuel in cylinders she fired up (redneck way to prime your fuel lines)!

Once I get parts ordered for this and start the maintenance phases, I'll be asking more questions in regards to this ATV.

550 xp half stuck in 4wd

Long story.... bought an ‘09 550 xp from my original owner brother. He neglected the wheeler when it came to maintenance then let it sit for two years. This past winter I completely tore it down. It needed a lot of time and small parts put into but definitely worth the little cash amount I have into it.

Only problem I have is when 2wd is selected it has good manners until I go to spin the rear tires.... all four want to spin. There’s never any hesitation, it just does a 4wd launch. When 4wd drive is selected it has typical 4wd manners, hard to steer etc.

I completely understand how the front diff works, I rebuilt it with all new bearings, seals, sprague, etc. I removed the downhill brake clutches since they were toast and left in the cage that surrounded them to support the diff. The clutches could not be purchased at the dealer, dealer said I needed to buy as a whole unit, $1500. No thanks

I have replaced the fluid once after rebuild initial fill up to clear any break in contaminants and removed and inspected the diff for possible broken spring clips on the new sprague. Diff looks just fine. I have also tested the diffs magnets, checked voltage with switch in 2wd and 4wd, annnnd unplugged the diff harness just Incase. I still never get true 2wd.

Need help

96 Polaris scrambler 400 4×4 2 stroke

Well bought this quad off Facebook $600 and had to have the motor re-bored (whoever bored it originally done it sloppy and piston had alot of blowback and engine would not start) it was bored to the maximum measurement with it still being safe according to the mechanic or referred to as bored over twice if that puts it into your perspective. Anyways, it starts up first to second pulll let it idle for 5 minutes minimum everytime and followed proper top end break in procedure.
Problem is once it's warmed up and I wide open throttle, suddenly it'll bog like it's out of gas, and will sometimes die if I don't let off throttle fast enough or if I don't play with throttle to keep it going then it'll blast off.
Possible causes: the carborator - bought a rebuild kit for a 1999 instead of a 96 Because that's what the chick on FB said. (Smacks fourhead)
Carborator float bowl float is set too high (rebuild kit didn't contain one) and when motor is off, it'll steadily leak gas out untill it's empty 😞 happened too many times already lol just went and got an iridium plug. Other plug I took out, the metal clip for spark is black and dark but not nearly as bad as some that I've seen premix is at 40:1.

Diamondback Cover

Anyone using a Diamondback cover, and loading from the rear with the extensions?
I have a Ram short bed (5.7’) with the Diamondback cover. I was going to order the extensions but not sure they are long enough, I think I would need 4” more inches . Looking for someone to do some measurements of theirs.

See attached pic.
Thanks

Rear Sway Bar

Is there an easier way to connect/disconnect the rear way bar? I pulled the pins to try it out and it seems fine. Now I can't get it back together. I'm not a high speed guy so do I even need it connected? What have you other riders found out while using you wheeler? I'm kind of thinking of leaving it disconnected unless there is something I'm missing like side hilling and such?

Top end performance for xmr

I know the xmr is geared lower than the other models. Is it possible to get more top end performance out of it?
