I've got a no-start condition. My 2002 Xplorer 4x4 died mid-ride like it ran out of gas. I got it back to my cabin and couldn't fix. So I hauled the carb home, gave it a good cleaning and rebuilt with new jets, needles, etc. Even though I had spark when grounded, I threw in a new ignition coil to be sure. It still turned over without starting. No change with a little gas in the spark plug hole. Nothing with one quick blast of starter fluid into the carb.

I then sorted to compression. The tester is in good shape as I verified it on another motor before and after. However, I could barely get a reading when cranking on the ATV. The regular fitting was too tall because the gas tank above is in the way. I used my extension hose to get into the spark plug hole but the hose takes a short 90 degree turn. Is it possible that I was kinking the hose? The needle would bounce but not even go above 30psi. I can feel compression when I hold my hand over the open cylinder.

Thoughts on the proper way to read compression on this ATV? This is my first ATV so I'm new to its unique attributes.

Before I start mounting 2 or 3 different lighting gadgets (LED only) and a horn (got a LOUD aaoogah horn) on my Ranger 1000 XP...do I NEED to wire up relays for all or can I wire each direct to battery source?

I was cleaning the box of supplies in my garage and I found an old stash of oil filters for my old Sportsman 850XP and I was wondering if anyone knows if I could use them on my wife's RZR 800 S or my Ranger 900. I rather use what I have instead of throwing them away but if I can't I'll just give them to a riding buddy who owns an 850.

Any help is appreciated.

Does anybody else have an issue with going through drive belts? I have just under 800 miles and already went through the stock belt at 450 miles that came installed on the bike. I also went through the XTX torque belt with in 200 miles. I just put the maverick belt on hoping this gives me a lot more time.

It was running great last fall when I winterized it and removed the battery for an occasional trickle charge through the winter. Went to get it fired up for this summer, the battery showed fully charged, put it back in and nothing. Went to Batteries Plus and they said only 10 volts - 3 year old battery - needed a new one, so I bought a sealed top of the line (for them). Thought I was out of the water, but when I put the new battery in and went to hook it up, I get sparks when I go to attach the red and black to there respective posts and the fan immediately kicks on. This is without the key in the iginition. What the heck is going on here? Hate to bring it to the dealer for troubleshooting but really don't know what to check. Any suggestions greatly appreciated!!

Any of you guys know where to go if a fella wants to sell parts from his Canam. I checked the forums here and I couldn't find anything for used parts. Is there a Facebook page or something a guy can use? Specifically for Canada? I'd prefer not dealing with border-cross shipping etc... I'd like to know what my XT-P Fox shocks are worth.... less than 500kms on them and no mud or jumps on them.... just winter lake riding.

About an hour in to the job and looking for suggestions. Have never torn into these dual A arm suspensions and I need to get this axle out. Front passenger side.

Do I need to disconnect both of these A arms from the machine side in order to get that out? Will the shock need to be removed too?

Before I tear it all down, is there an easier way to remove and drop in a new axle?

Having intermittent starting issue on my 2016 Polaris 450 HO (187 miles)..... Turn the key, lites and panel light up, brake on, in Park, and run switch is on, but does not engage starter. No clicking, nothing.

Try again later, starts right up. Take it for a short ride. Turn it off. Won't start again.

Tried it this morning (thought it was overheating on short ride), but nothing.

A little while later, tried it again, now it starts.

A little concerning if it happens when you are miles from anywhere and no way to manually start it.

Any ideas?

My 2014 sportsman xp 850 has no power steering and battery indicator is on.... I have a brand new battery and a good voltage regulator in it..... Could this be the stator has or is going bad? It is staring fine. checked the voltage while the bike is running and is reading 14.68.... When it is off it is around 12.28. Thank you for you're time
