Blown engine?
I was riding today at about 25-30 mph when the motor makes this loud clapping noise (like the air brake on a big rig). Now the bike won't crank, it'll turn over but won't start. Any ideas? It's a 07 sportsman 500 efi
1995 Trail Boss 250 recoil assembly
What up guys! I'm trying to reassemble my recoil assembly. My spring broke inside the recoil housing and I replaced it. My trouble is putting it all back together. I have the spring in place and I've tried putting it all back. Something just not right. Anybody that has step by step on putting it back together from the spring back please share! Thanks!
General maintenance question
Picked up a 2003 Sportsman 600 from a family member a couple weeks ago. It wouldn't start and I've done the following and it is much improved.
Changed gas
Changed spark plugs
Changed oil
Changed fuel filter
Changed Carb manifold
Changed air filter
Changed battery
I'm a complete newbie and really don't have much experience with this sort of thing. Are there any other things I should look at? Seems to be running pretty well. It sat outside in the weather for about 3 years.

Float bowl repair
Ever take the float bowl off of a carburetor and find the overflow tube damaged? I have seen them corroded off and split - the carb overflows regardless what you do to it and there is no easy fix other than replacing the float bowl with a new or used one and in some cases you have to get a complete carb.
I repair float bowls (almost every make and model) - I remove the damaged bronze tube and install a stainless steel tube. there are few float bowls that I cannot repair. Attached are a couple pics of a broken tube from a 2004 Kawasaki KFX700. In the third pic is both float bowls from V-twin engine. The bowl on the left has the original brass or bronze tube - the bowl on the right has a stainless steel tube installed. The Kawasaki is one of those machines that you have to buy a carburetor to get the float bowl. The carb cost $585.60 - I can repair the bowl for $50 and the repair is permanent. The stainless tube will not corrode off or split and it is more durable than the thin brass tube the factory installs. No danger of breaking the tube by dropping the bowl. You really have to work at it to (intentionally) to break it.

Front Prop shaft U joints 2015 Sportsman 850 SP
Hello, new user here, first post.
2015 Sportsman 850 SP.
I can't find many videos on this specific U joint. I've never don't this before. I have the whole thing apart and now I'm putting it back together using the service manual. (using a vice and socket).
I'm at the point where I'm setting the bearing caps. I get the first one set but the clip (its an outer one) won't hold when I'm trying to set the one on the other side. The bearing cap is pushing and bending the clip out. Also the bearing is tight. it moves but it's tight.
Did I screw something up? How do I get the other cap seated?
Sorry if repost, I did a search and found nothing fruitful so I made an account.
Thanks!
