Backfiring ’09 850 XP – How To Fix What I Found?
Hey Guys,
Sorry to beat this dead horse, as I did use the search feature and found many users with a similar backfiring problem on an 850 xp and adjusting the throttle cable seemed to fix. I did that procedure and mine is still doing this. My quad is a 2009 850 XP, very well maintained machine. 131 hours of use. After a few months of sitting in the garage I went to fire it up for hunting season yesterday and took it for a spin.
At idle it's missing, making a slight "popping" or "burping" sound occasionally as it burps or misses at idle and it's backfiring very loudly consistently on decel. Can't do much hunting with gunshots following me around, lol. It also just seems like a loss of power too.
After adjusting the cable, the problem still occurs. So i added a zip tie in between the contacts. Same problem. I then took off the plastics and found this:

Here is a further back photo so you can see where it is...

Looks like a god damned mouse chewed the wiring!!!! I think this might be the source of the rough running/backfiring. How should I go about fixing? Just electrical tape and call it good? It doesn't look like they made it all the way through any of the wires.
Do you agree this could be the issue?

2010 550 Sportsman T-MAP issues continue
Can anyone tell me if a weak battery could cause this 102-3 T-MAP high voltage issue? I checked last night just as it sits and had 12.04v and started it and at idle was around 14.25v. Does this seem about normal? Funny thing about this bike is I had an IAC code before this T-MAP sensor code. I had a weak battery so I unhooked everything and charged it. After hooking back up I had no codes and ran great what little I ran it. I started my repairs on bike, suspension parts, and new tires took about 2 weeks of sitting in basement and started up to run it a little bit and started missing, rough idle, stallled once or twice and engine light was flashing. Now have the 102-3 code. Bought a used T-MAP from powersports nation and still have code. Can't find any broken wires from the IAC/TPS/T-MAP sensors. Took out fairly new plug that I put in right before the repairs and it was pretty black. Not sure how quick things should heat up and to what extent they heat but exhaust seems to get HOT quick.. Never paid attn before.. Please help if you can.. thanks

Sportsman 500 Starter Bendix Bushing
Hello,
I need to replace my noisy starter bendix and I see the thrust washer behind it was missing. I can get the return spring for about half the cost of a new bendix. Would keeping the OEM bendix with new spring be better than cheap replacement?
Also, any idea how snug the bendix should fit in either the recoil or case bushing? Mine has some side to side play when tipping the bendix back and forth with it out of the machine.
Thanks for any help in advance!

Can-Am Renegade Wheel Spacers
Hi, I'm new to this forum and I was wondering if anyone could help me out...
Basically, I love the look and feel of Renegades with wheel spacers. It's super easy to find some for the 800's and 1000's but cannot find any for my 570. I'd be running stock wheels front and back. I'm not sure what size to go with but probably 1.5 in front and 1 in back. The ones I found are $200+ and was hoping there's a better solution. Someone help please! thank you
