The GBC Heartland Challenge Introduces a Toddler Class + Video
When the promoters say they’ve got classes for everyone at the GBC Heartland Challenge, they mean it! Even the little tykes got a chance to rip their battery powered machines around a race course. A post shared by Casey Drahota (@casey_at_sidebysidestuff) on Aug 18, 2017 at 3:52pm PDT more
Kibles in Colorado
I have a 1999 Sportsman 500. Only 200 miles. It died and won't restart. Cranks fine, no fire. Checked and has one spark when starts to crank, nothing while cranking, then one spark when stop cranking. Any ideas?
2017 sportsman 570 dies when wet
Hello,
Brand new 0 miles. Went on the first ride, it was raining the entire time, so the atv was pretty wet.
went through a big puddle, maybe as high as the tires or less, but splashed really good.
ATV died right after puddle, but started right up. Then would not rev up past 1/4 the way. 2 minutes later would rev 1/2 way ..
Withhin 10 minutes would rev 100%. everything was fine after that.
Was that a wet belt ? wet spark plug ?
later in the day it dies again, going through a smaller puddle, started right up, and revved fine.
Any help ? ideas ?
Can a wet belt cause the atv to shutoff ? or is something else going on ?

Suspect Bad Battery
Hi all, hoping someone can verify my thoughts on this, my 2014 570 died yesterday on a 40 mile ride, EPS steering warning light, overheated coolant and HiLo warning. Towed it 15 miles back to trailhead. 500 +/- miles on it, but original battery. I keep it on a battery tender so there was no "slow" starting indication before.
I imagine if battery is shot, the EPS and cooling fan won't work and running with lights on stole any charging power? Any thoughts appreciated!

How do I know if my 850 is ok ?
After riding for hours Saturday, I slipped into a mud hole that I thought was like all the rest (about a foot or so deep). Once I realized it's depth, it was too late. My 850 shut off only after the rear end was under water up to the middle of my seat (back lower than the front). The front 12" of seat, tank, handlebars, and headlights were out of water. After winching out, I checked the air filter. All was dry. I gave it a few minutes and turned it over. After 5 to 7 seconds, it fired up and seemed to run well.
What if any concerns should I have???
Thanks,
John

On the list of wild hybrid ATVs, this one is pretty close to the top. We spied this insane CBR1000 conversion at the Oregon dunes a number of years ago and it is every bit as fast as it looks. When you talk about hard to ride because of so much horsepower, this one fits the bill. more

Intermittent RPM’s
So I've been having/had this issue for some time now. Pretty much put it off, but since Winter is Coming, I feel the need to maybe fix it.
When I first bought my 08 sportsman 500 last year, I ended up changing the stator and voltage regulator among other things.
The issue is sometimes at idle the RPM's work fine. Other times it's just 0 unless I rev it up in which case the RPM's show up no problem, until I let off the throttle then it's back down to 0.
What controls the RPM's?
What could the issue be? Any assistance is much appreciated.
