Possibly looking to upgrade

Attachment 72201

Hi all, I'm looking to possibly upgrade to a can am. I currently have a Polaris sportsman 500 HO. My local Yamaha dealer (in PA) has a 2014 outlander xt 650 with 1,965 miles listed for $6,100. It has an hmf pipe and sti hd3 wheels with 27" mud tires that I'm not sure of the brand or if any other add ons. My main concern is the mileage, is this mileage high? Should I be worried about this mileage on a used machine? I'm sure the dealer went over it and replaced things that needed replacing although it's not a can am dealer so maybe they didn't look too far into it.

My question is should I check this one out or look elsewhere? How is the price considering mileage?

Thanks!

Emergency Operations

Greeting all, as a new member here I have searched the forum and have not been able to find anything on this as yet. I have a 2015 Sportsman 570, and to be honest was a little chagrined to find no recoil start. Anyway, to my questions, I have purchased a WEEGO charger for the potential of a dead battery while afield. Are there any limitations or issues that arise when operation with a dead battery (i.e. system that will not function of the stator/alternator)? Also has anyone determined an alternate method of starting these machines? Thanks,

Noobie

New to the site and new to Can Am. Just picked up a used 2017 650 XMR with 145 miles. Any tips for me? Mainly trail riding and small mud holes. Im definately amazed at the power of the 650.

ATV safety course

I bought my quad about 7 years ago and, as of yet, Polaris has not contacted me for the safety course. Yes, I have contacted them multiple times expressing interest and each time they promise to let me know. Anyone else having problems with getting them to contact you?

Other than that, the only issue I've had is getting a faulty gear indication. Apparently after riding through some mud puddles, the shifter will not show the correct gear. The quad still works, just doesn't show whether it's in high or low reliably. A good bath got the mud out of the lever and all works fine now.

Lithium Battery

Has Anyone changed to a Lithium Battery on the 2017 Sportsman XP 1000? If so can you share the source and part number of the Battery you used?

Was it a direct replacement and drop in?

Thanks
Gregg

New Outlander?

Hi everybody

I have a Outlander 2016 850XT, and I love it, but my first choice was an XTP, now I have a pretty good deal in exchange with my 850 for a 2017 XTP 1000r, I know that the 1000 have 10hp more and I searched a lot about this but did find a real answer to my question, is there a good difference in power?

I run mostly during winter and sometime I feel that more power is needed, I run summer too.
I know that the 1000r can make more heat then the 850 but I nerver do mud only trail during summer.

I would not to change for another 850 even if it's an XTP, if a change it will be for a 1000r XTP but is the 1000r worth it??

thanks!!
