Somewhat new to Polaris…

Hey guys,

Getting back into the ATV market. Somewhat...I sold a Polaris Rzr 900 trail this spring due to lack of use and too big for my local trails. I'm now looking at a couple of 570 Touring models. Been riding atvs/dirtbikes forever. Unfortunately children and work don't allow to ride much at all. Hence, I don't want to spend a lot on a bike, especially if it's going to sit.

Either way, I'll be making another post about my used 570 dilemma/debate.

ITP Mud lite XL 27″ or 28″ on Sportsman SP 570 -17?

Hi, I'm new to the board.
Hoping to get some good answers here :)
So, this summer I bought a Sportsman 570 SP -17.
It has the McPerson struts in the front (European model, US might have dual a-arms)?

I'm now looking to upgrade my tires. Machine comes stock with 26" tires on 14" rims.
A friend of mine recommended the ITP Mud lite XL, and now I'm wondering if I should go with the 27" or the 28"?
When I read online, people are saying ITP-tires seems to be a size smaller than other tires.
Will 28x10-14 and 28x12-14 fit on my stock 570 Except for spacers in the front.
I'm worrying about rubbing in the back against the footwell/fender.
Or should I go with the 27x10-14 and 27x12-14 instead?

Best regards!

2002 DS650 Upgrades

I've had my 2002 Ds650 Baja for over a year and I am looking to swap my swing arm and rear end . Any suggestions on what I can covert the rear end over to?

Tire width?

Looking at new tire and rims for my ?17 sportsman 570 w/o eps. Do you guys suggest 26? or 27?? And also does 9 and 11 inch wide tires make a big difference performance wise; and do they make a no power steering model harder to turn?

03 700 replacement head bolts

Has anybody found another outlet for cylinder head bolts for the 02-03 sportsman 700? There are plenty of aftermarket bolts for later years, but I've been unable to find anything for my 03. Just erps :angryfire: me to shell out almost $90.00 for SIX bolts. Thanks Group.

Battery put in backwards

The battery for my 2004 polaris sportsman 500 HO was recently put in backwards and began smoking when the key was turned. I have switched the battery and put wiring back to make sure it is correct. I then turned the key and found that I still have power to the machine and it does crank. The first time I got a faint burning smell and removed the grill along with plastic cover. I tried it again and it still was cranking no burning smell however I figured id hold off going any further to try to prevent any damage. Any ideas on what may need to be replaced?? Thank you for any and all input as it is greatly appreciated.
