I have searched and searched, I cannot find a good answer for my issue. I bought a used Sportsman with 85 miles on it.
The battery is drained when it is off and sitting for a period of time. I bought a new battery and I keep a spare. I keep a trickle charge on it.
The other day I unplugged the charger and after a few days it would not start again.
I have checked all the basics. Cleaned everything. I added a winch but the problem was an issue before that.

when I first move my atv from being parked, there is noise coming from what seems to be the rear. It sounds like the gears are not meshing correctly. The noise goes away after a few hundred feet. There is only 10 hours on the atv. is this normal or is a trip to the dealer required.

I just bought a 2002 500 4x4 scrambler with a transmission problem. Can anyone inform me as to what years are the same mechanically. I have downloaded a 2009 service/repair manual free and it appears to be the same as my 2002. Please advise.

DIY Passenger Seat. Boat seat/2 ammo cans mounted on a board mounted with clevis pins for quick removal.

I was riding my 850 last weekend up in northern Michigan. I noticed that it started to smoke out the exhaust. I checked the oil and it was 1qt low. I added a quart to it and within 10 miles that quart was gone! I am thinking I need a engine rebuild. I'm not that good with motors so I was thinking of just swapping that one out for another one. Does anyone know where I can locate an engine?

While driving my 6x6 yesterday I checked my oil and it was overfull and bubbly, it looked almost like water bubbles. When I got back to camp I changed the oil, saw 1 drop of water in the oil, and when I inspected the filter in the pleats it had little droplets of water in some of the pleats. It is not antifreeze. And the oil does not appear to be mixing with water. Today when I checked it, it was high again and appeared to be bubbly again. Trying to figure out where the water may be coming from. The only thing that we can think is maybe condensation in the engine. Any idea's???
