Bogging down and shutting down in reverse
Good evening, hope everyone is well. Cutting right to the chase with a short background: inherited a 1991 trail boss 250 with limited knowledge of the history. Electric start wouldn't work, replaced the starter relay solenoid and that fixed the electric start. Noticed fuel leaking from carb so deducted (probably) a stuck float. Instead of rebuilding/cleaning the carb, I ordered a cheapo Chinese one that wasn't an exact replica of the factory carb (seems a smaller all-around), but it doesn't leak and the wheeler runs.
Now to the current situation...installed a snow plow on the wheeler and after running it with the plow for a few minutes, it bogs down and dies when I put it in reverse. If I'm fast enough and put it back in neutral, it doesn't die and the idle shoots back up to a high-ish idle.
In my mind, the wheeler is working harder with that plow so when I come to a stop in high (forward), and go to reverse, it's gulping air to keep up. If I adjust that idle to burn rich, it dies out from too much fuel at idle and lags way out when I press the throttle lever. All guidance is very much appreciated.

Buying used
I have a chance to trade my 2013 outlander 800 xt max for a 2013 commander 800 XT. What are things to look for? The only thing the owner disclosed was he put a rear end in it last year and the seats have torn some. It has 4300 miles. Thanks in advance

07 700 AWD with a mid of it’s own
Unit started engaging AWD with switch in 2WD. Changed fluids at 1600 mi and they were clean/normal. Original owner and unit hasn't been abused. Have heard of plate staying magnetized but figure it's the cage. The machine is used lightly and looking for recommendations as to stock/aftermarket parts. I'm assuming I'm on the right track in my diagnosis....

2018 Renegade 570 XMR Wheels/Tires
Hey everyone. I am new to the forum and trying to get some info. I picked up a new 2018 Renegade 570 XMR over the weekend and got a killer deal on it ($8100 out the door with nothing down). I do zero mud riding and most of it is trail. I want to swap out the tires/wheels and trying to figure out what I need to be aware of. I am looking at putting some STI HD7 wheels on amd trying to settle on a tire. I am looking for a good trail tire and a few that I have ridden and like only come in 27". If I were to go down to a 27", should I stick with a 27x9-14 in the front and a 27x11-14 in the rear or look at using the same size all around? I have not been able to find a lot of good threads explaining the pros and cons of the question above. Also I know the speedo will need to be recalibrated but is there anything else I would need to look into like clutching? CVTs are new to me so I am trying to make sure I account for everything with the change if I decide to make it.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

2018 Outlander vs 2019
Hi guys! ,
I am new to this forum but I will be more active soon as I get a new quad. I was at a dealership they have a 2018 outlander 850 XT for sale, I believe 9,200. I was really looking for a 2019 outlander 850 DPS that's all I really wanted. but the 18 is marked down pretty good. Do you guys think the 2019 is much better with the new suspension, sway bars, being 2 inch's wider and new power steering modes (which I think is really neat). I want to spend my money wisely and make the right choice and pick the best one. I would really appreciate all your opinions and help.

Sitting over 3yrs 1999 Sportsman 500
I wanted to start this thread with hopes that I stay up on logging my progress. Last projects I wanted to log my progress with Land Cruiser and Goldwing, but didnt. .
I got the Sportsman 500 4x4 at an auction. It had been sitting for over 3years and belonged to Arizona Game and Fish. It looks like they left it outside.
Things Noted so far:
- When I picked up the quad we could not get in Neutral, because Shifter rusted. (ordered used on EBay)I got it in neutral at home.
- Some one ran wire to fan. (So maybe problem over heating or fan not turning on)
- Both Brakes not working and pretty dry.
- Lights came on with new battery (did not try starting)
- Obvious Gas tank dry and broke off air vent trying to remove hose. Will Melt back on.
- No Radiator fluid. Filled and over flow is leaking
- Oil dark. Replaced oil and filter. Squirted oil in return port coming out of engine and filled filter
- Removed two nests. One in the speedo control box and the other in the belt drive.. Not as bad as I thought. Did not find any chewed wires in the speedo box, but the varmints
nibbled on the belt. I will replace before actually riding, but for now leaving until it starts
- Spark plug looked pretty good, just typical dark carbon, but will replace.
- I gently pulled the rope so engine not seized.
- Air filter dirty, will replace.
So this is a bigger little project than I had expected, but I think its doable if patient. Orderd Cylmer repair manual it comes in 2 days.
Was planing starting with just getting it running
Tonight I will..
1. Rebuild Carbs (kit came today), Clean tank, check and clean
Fuel lines.
2. I will be checking to see if spark is getting to plug
3. Put tank back on and air filter then try to start..
Then I will move on to other things. I will be flushing Radiator and replace rest of the fluids after I get it started
Last option is to part out and sell on Ebay, but I dont have any projects going on right now, so I figured why not.
Any recommendations or feed back on this is appreciated.
Thanks
Aaron
