I plan to have a few road trips here and there when I am comfortable with the new machine. Not least for the getting to the government safety check when that comes around in a few years but also for other outings.



We (perhaps obviously...) have a legal requirement for EU approved road legal tires, and also for proper snow tires in the winter - ideally studded in my experience with other vehicles - and a summer relevant tire too. I am not a fan of all seasons if there is such a thing.


The surfaces for such trips are asphalt and hard pack and a tiny bit of gravel - probably mostly a 50/50 mix of the first two as I would be sticking to our rural back roads rather than the main roads. In the winter they may or may not be covered in all the various different depths and types of snow and ice. It can go down to -30C (-22F) coldest.



So I am after some recommendations please! I am after the right tools for the job because its worth it to be safe and legal.

Hey, I Was given a 1995 trail boss and was working on the rear brake and it looks like its missing what ever holds the brake disc on the shaft. I can't seem to find out what holds it on. Can anyone tell me what i need and where to get it. Thanks for any help.

25 miles of break in riding. Am I good to start getting into the throttle more? Love this machine already!

Hi all. Just picked up a very clean banana yellow 700.
The tires are just ok and if I'm going to replace them I'd like to go to 27's.
It already has a new aftermarket clutch that revs up to where I think that part would be good.
So what do I need to do to fit 27"? Do I need a 2" lift, will that axle angle be too much, would I need wheel spacers?
The fronts would then be 1" wider and that might rub the front shock?
I'm sure many of you have done this, I'm hoping you can tell me what I'd need to do.

It was 40 degrees out this evening. Started fine, let run to warm up. First the cooling fan kicked on right away. Coolant level is perfect. Then went cruising around the yard and very sluggish...no response. Peddle to the floor to get to 30mph, usually 60. Checked air filter. What might I check next? Thanks

So, I have a used 2011 Polaris sportsman 850. This atv comes with a crazy story behind it. The bike runs great and I have no complaints about it. A while ago when doing some preventive maintenance I noticed the belt needed to be replaced. Since the bike is used and not knowing the history if it's ever been replaced or not I figured I would just go ahead and replace it. The bike has around 2300 miles on it. So, after replacing the belt I now have acquired a belt squeal at slow speeds / lower RPMs. I understand the process of having to break in the new belt, but out off all the belts I have changed in the past, I have never had a squeal with a new belt. Now the scenarios that I have the belt squeal in are, low range up 3500 RPMs. After that the squeal will go away. Now I only use high if I know I'm going to go faster than 10 MPH. I try to use low for 10 mph or less. High has the same squeal until I hit 3500 RPMs. When watching the speed, the sound will be present up to 5 mph. After replacing the belt, the squeal started right away on the first startup. I have put approx. 40 miles on it since replacing the belt. When riding I would Vary the speeds, no wide open throttle, using both High and Low range. I am at a loss of what would cause this? The clutch surfaces look good with no gouges. Do I have the scuff the clutch surfaces? If I put the old belt back on, it does not squeal. The part number listed on the belt is what is called out for the 2011 850.

Any thoughts or suggestions?
