New to Can Am ((((Limp Mode))))

I recently purchased a Renegade XMR 1000
Everyone I talk to(Most of them not can am owners) say “that bike awesome but wait till it goes in to limp mode and ill be towing you home” can some please explain this limp mode to me how it works? How to reset? Can it be bypassed by sweet talking a dealer Or is this some kind of jealous rumor the other guys make up thanks guys

1997 Xplorer 500 is hard to shift, belt never completely disengages

My 1997 Xplorer 500 squeals when stopped, and the only way I can keep it stopped is to hold the brake. The belt never completely disengages when idling. I changed the belt, same issue. When I took off the clutch cover, I noticed the belt was very tight, and rides above the top edge of the secondary clutch. I read the clutch adjustment thread on here, but unfortunately, it’s for a different type of clutch. I have the service manual and reviewed it. There are supposed to be some belt deflection adjustment washers between the two clutch halves and there are none that I can see. The pictures are what I saw when I pulled the two halves apart. In fact, it looks like the two halves have been grinding on each other. I don’t see any of these “washers” on eBay, but maybe I’m not calling them the right thing in my search. Does anyone know where I can get some of these washers to adjust the secondary?

Polaris sportsman 500 bogging and backfiring when letting of throttle

Hello everyone! I have a 2011 Polaris Sportsman 500 carb with 336.2 hours and 4439 miles, I’m having an issue with the atv bogging and backing firing sometimes when letting off the throttle after holding it at 3/4-full throttle for a short time cruising down back roads so it’s not really under much load, it only bogs and back fires for around 10 seconds then it gains its power back and runs as normal until I get back on the throttle for a while again, I’ve checked the valves and they are in spec, something I’ve noticed this past summer right before the bogging issue started is it seems to burn oil slightly, I ride about 2-5 times a month in the summer and have to put a little oil in it once every 1-2 months to keep it between the lines, something i noticed today was at the very bottom of the dipstick the oil looks milky which is new because I check the oil just about every time I ride, after seeing that I checked the coolent level and that seems fine, I do ride in a good amount of water sometimes but not usually over the dipstick, other notes are the air filter is original but I cleaned it not to long ago and the fuel filter and spark plug are both original as well, I plan on changing that stuff soon because of the high mileage, and the carb has never been off and cleaned the atv is a bomber sorta speak but still in fair condition so I’d like to keep it running good, I keep it maintained but probably not as good as I should, it also seems to lack power over all a little, and I’ve also replaced my belt probably 400 miles ago and looked over the clutches which seem to be working fine My guess on all of this is a blown head gasket or base gasket but the atv doesn’t smoke, I’m pretty good at understanding and working on 2 strokes and some 4 strokes so i think I can replace the head and base gasket, I’ve seen rebuild kits on eBay that come with the jug, piston, rings, cam chain tensioner, and the gaskets for around $120 I’m wondering if that would be worth doing or if those cheap Chinese parts will probably kick the bucket real fast I’m just trying to get it running like it used to without putting a ton of money into it because as I said it’s a bomber. Sorry if this is all long and confusing I’m just trying to give you as much info as possible so maybe I can get these issues sorted out, thanks!!

2018 xp1000 230 miles, radiator fans sound like bearings are gone already, anyone have this issue? they work fine just loud as hell

Polaris 450 – 570 Service Advisory from Polaris U.S. Forum

Hello,
I have recently read an article on the U.S. Polaris ATV Forum regarding a Service Advisory relating to an excessive heat issue emanating from the RHS foot well. To date this problem has seen over 19,000 units affected from 2014+ in the 450 - 570 Sportsman models. In my research there are other models affected. Unfortunately the Service Bulletin warranty period expires in the States as of 31/12/2018. I have contacted my original dealer in Albury-Wodonga Australia via their contacts page and they returned with a phone call saying they had checked their Polaris Re -Calls register and said it wasn't a re-call.
I tried explaining the issue as a Service Bulletin and I was told to contact my local dealer in Adelaide Australia, where I live now to see if they can help which I've done but being so close to new year their shut ATM.
Sorry for the late notice but if you have this problem it's not too late yet to email your dealers.

XT or not XT

the outlander I picked up a few weeks ago, an 06, appears to be an XT but not sure. Reasons I think it is are that it has a factory winch and the bigger, 11 inch, rear wheels. Is there something in the serial number or something else that will confirm. Doesn't make much difference, just curious.

2014 Polaris Sportsman stalls when riding, then won’t go into gear

Over the xmas season, I was quadding on my 2014 Polaris Sportsman 570 EPS. While driving, the quad stalled in mid stride. I placed the quad back into park and it restarted without any problems. When I placed the quad back into low gear, the transmission would not engage. I tried every gear from low to high to reverse and nothing. It would not move even when accelerating. The gearing would seem to engage (jump into gear) but would not drive. We started to tow it home and then my daughter got it to go into gear and drove it home. This doesn't make any sense to me. It seems like the clutch wasn't activating like it should and wouldn't grab the belt.

I have read previous threads where people have noticed it turning off because of the key but my key only has the rubber casing around it so it wasn't the key shutting the machine down.

Any ideas?

Right now, the machine is at the dealers. The dealer was thinking it maybe due to the moisture in the snow but what good is a quad that cannot run in the snow or water for that matter. It has a Dayco XTX2239 belt which I replaced which from everything I have read replaces the Polaris belt 3211113 belt.

Renegade xmr 1000 water in the air box

Hey guys looking for some advice I just bought a 2019 renegade xmr 1000 and went riding and was going threw what I thought was a mud puddle but turned out to be a 3ft hole and long story short I sunk my snorkels and I drained the air box but the dash has a solid red light and a green light on and was wondering if I had to take it back to the dealership or is it something I can do myself ???
