sportsman 500 rear axle replace boot, super tight fit cv joint to axle
I opened the ring and it did not want to slip off.
I had to hold the ring open and simultaneously whack it back with a 3 lb sledge, then it came off.
IMO, this should be a sliding slip fit onto the splines, is that true?
And, can the outer joint be disassembled? If so, I could put some compound on the splines and grind outer splines to fit into the inner splines of cv carrier.
ok, found a video this can be done

Polaris issues
I charged my battery up but still won’t start. If I jump it from my car it starts but as soon as. I pull the jumpers off it dies. I’m guessung it’s a the alternator but dealer said stater (487.00) which is like alternator. Did he mean starter or does anyone have input for me
Dead battery won’t charge
I have a 2013 Polaris sportsman 550 , I was hanging a deer with it and left the key on after using the winch , -15 •c . 3 days later went to move it and noticed key was on , battery dead . Tried hooking 12 volt charger up to battery and it won’t charge . Tried hooking booster cables up to truck (with truck off )and nothing . Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated .

Digital Dash problem
Hey guys I have a 2018 850 sportsman and my digital dash/instrument panel is having some problems. It will come on and off at random times. It will also flicker a bunch at times. The blue light goes on and off then sometimes the gauges/speedometer go on and off. It's like a loose connection or something. At first I pressure washed it and thought I may have got some water in the connector. Pulled it apart dried it out and put some electrical grease in it but no fix. Any help is appreciated
Tie rod mod 2000 Scrambler 400
I had a 2001 Scrambler and have to rebuild it after a hard but that bent the frame. I got a 2000 frame to rebuild it on. There is a difference in the steering post and tie rod end placement.
The 2001 uses a similar post but with bushings welded on to lower the tie rod placement. The 2000 places one tie rod between the bolt flanges, and another with a bushing in the middle and the tie rod below the flange.
Has anyone ever placed both tie rod ends either between the flange or added a second bushing and placed both of the below? I would think adding a second bushing and placing them lower would add stability and more range of motion. Having them offset seems odd to me. Any thoughts?
