Legal Two Up purchase decision?

Not sure where to start my question. Presently my wife and I ride pretty tuff trails at very easy paces together. When on my own I ride these same trails but wick the pace up a bit. Myself I ride either my DRZ400(solo) or TW200 (when wife’s around) duel sport bikes. And her on her (still) nearly new 2016 Sportsman 450ho (570). Her ATV has less the 500kms on the clock mostly put on by myself as shortly after purchase my wife and I were blessed with the arrival of my daughter.

For a multitude of reasons (mostly past injuries of mine taking there toll on my abilities). The time has come to sell of at least one of my duel sport (Likely the DRz). And in anticipation of my now nearly 2 year old daughter being able to join us one day I’m contemplating selling the wife’s ATV as well in favour of a two up machine.

My questions are a choice between the players in the field. I’m looking at the Sportsman 570 SP touring, the Sportsman 850 SP touring, and a bit different the Honda Pioneer 500.

For me the 850 sounds fun because when the wife’s not around I love the DRZ for the insane pace it can keep on the trails AND would hope to get some of that feeling on four wheels once it’s gone. BUT I worry the size and power of it may scare off my wife as she has not ridden in two years now. I also worry of Polaris quality and reliability as even our low mileage 450 has been to the dealer once for warrenty repairs when the CVT case leaked in water it’s second time out.

The 570 would be essentially a slightly longer version of her current machine and be fine I’d imagine but not all that exciting for when I use it. And again quality and reliability remain a concern.

The Honda offers a much more carefree from reliability stand point. A bit more amenities in having a roof and a bit more security it a full roll cage and seat belts. The DCT means no more worry of belt slippage. BUT it’s goong to be slower than the wife’s 450 and lacks traction in the front with the open diff. It’s also a bit on the ugly side.

The parent in me is leaning towards the Honda for its roll cage alone and far better reliability record. while I think TRULY I want the 850 Sportsman. The wife is kinda indifferent but is really fond of her 450 (she loves the blue lol).

Regardless what I pick it will see far more use than wife’s current ride, as wife and I can use it togeather, or wife and daughter eventually, or even Myself and daughter, or even better yet the wife and daughter then me on the trusty old TW200(seriously other than deep deep mud or water this thing is UNSTOPPABLE).

bracket or spacer lift on xtp?

Looking to upgrade to some 28x10x14 outbacks on my 2013 xtp. Just not sure what type of lift to use? I've seen some guys have used the rubberdown spacers. What is a better way to lift the machine? Bracket lift or spacers? Tried doing some searching and can't find a definitive answer. Thanks for any suggestions on this.

2014 sportsman xp 850

I’m new to the forum but have read about others having a delay in the throttle before accelerating. Does a new clutch kit solve this problem and if so what are you guys using? Thanks.

Front and rear A arm guards cheap

On Polaris site their a atm guards for the non arched machines are on clearance. Normally $149.99 per axle now just $60. Hell of s deal. I just order some for wife’s 2017 850. They have them for the 570 as well on clearance.

Fine tuning of carburetor on Xplorer 500

I have a 1997 Xplorer 500 and a 1999 Sportsman 335. I have meticulously cleaned and rebuilt the carbs on both. Both run like new at this point except for one problem. On the 335, when I put on choke and start cold, it starts right up, and runs at a high idle until it warms up and it’s time to take off the choke. On the 500, when I put on the choke, it starts up ok, but never runs at that high idle. It will occasionally stall out unless I adjust idle speed or tap the throttle to keep it running until it warms up, I turn off the choke when warm, then runs fine. I’ve read all the carb adjusting posts on these forums, adjusted the choke a number of different ways, adjusted the fuel/air screw so that it runs optimally, etc.. These two bikes are only two years apart and seem to have the same carb (although one is air-cooled, the other (500) is water cooled. Does anyone have any idea why the 500 won’t run at that nice high idle while the choke is on?

Possible fuel problem

Hello, I have a 2002 Polaris Sportsman 700. I have been having issues with it not starting especially when cold. Have a new battery and replaced the spark plugs, and checked for spark which was good. I'm now looking at a fuel issue. The question I have is, if I remove the fuel line going into the carb and turn it over and gas flows out from the hose, can I eliminate the fuel lines, filter and fuel pump? Am I correct that this quad has two fuel filters? When I try and start the quad it give a quick indication that it wants to run and then the starter just goes and goes and I sometimes get a backfire. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Bruce S.

Renegade 1000 xxc (2015)

Wondering if anyone knows if the 2018 xmr renegade 1000 floorboards will fit a 2015 xxc renegade 1000. Trying to get more clearance between the back tire and fenders.

Hey Everyone!

Located in NS Canada, I just purchased a 2018 Sportsman 850 SP last week. I also picked up the Heat Demon Grip and Thumb Warmers and the ClickNGo2 Plow. I've had a few small hiccups with the accessories thanks to my dealers mechanic but never the less I am excited for the adventure that lies ahead. I will post any issues I have to the forums. Cheers!

After thinking about.

Without doing the full BRP snorkle (NO need for it for where I ride).

Does anybody know what OEM part #'s are needed to install just the cvt exhaust on a 2018 570 max dps away from the left side? Thought about DIY but i'd like to keep the install clean and OEM looking..

TIA..
