Mounted my Montana GPS

This is the 3ed ATV that my Montana has been used on. I don't mind breaking off a $14 mirror playing in the trees but a $300 GPS can make even a grown man cry. Never mount the GPS above the handlebars is my feeling.
This mount is the best way we have found. It is mounted below the instrument panel and still very easy to read. The mount is wired into the bikes battery and stays on the whole time that I'm on a trip; We do not turn the GPSs off at night. It stays charged 100% so if you want to remove for reading off the bike the bat will not go dead. GPS gets its power from the mount. If you remove the GPS from the mount there is no power draw on the bike battery. If you look close you can see a screw that will lock the unit in so someone cannot walk off with it. We sooner remove and place in storage box if in a restaurant; so do not use there locking system. We do not care to use the lock system since quite often will remove to read at brake. The holding system is totally secure so the GPS can't come loose and fall off. GPS will rotate as you turn the handle bars.
Got this one from CESHOWROOM (e-Bay) (https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Garmin-...72.m2749.l2649) for $30.16 w/free shipping. There are several sellers and their prices change from time to time.

Link to manufacture (https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/p/89575) I beleve they make other mounts for different GPSs.

In the 1st pic you can see the bracket I needed to make for mounting the GPS mount. Bracket is mounted to the insterment pannel by 3 screews.
In 3ed pic look close and you can see the button on the left side to work the latch and lock for holding the GPS in the mount.

Total Noob have questions

Hello! New here and to the life of owning not 1 but 2 new (to me) 4 wheelers! Super fuckin excited! Within the past week I've picked up a '05 Trail Boss 330 2wd (her’s) and a '95 Sportsman 400 2 stroke 4x4 (all mine!). I'm curious about the 2 stroke and fuel. I'm quite familiar with the fact that a 2 stroke uses mixed fuel, but from what I understand these have a "tank" for the oil, regular gas in the "main tank", and they mix either in the cylinder or on its way there. My question is, do I need specific type of oil or does the 2 stroke oil I use for my weedeater work the same way.
Also, the guy I bought mine from was using pre-mix gas in the main tank as well as keeping oil in the oil tank. Should I not continue to do this as a fail safe in case the oil pump goes out?
I know this is a long one (giggity), but thanks in advance for the help!

Shock Bump Stop Melted

I have had my 2019 Outlander Max XT out riding three or four times now. I was cleaning it up the other day and noticed that the left rear shock bump stop (nearest to the exhaust pipe) was half melted. Much more and it is just going to fall off. This was really quite disappointing.

Knowing that it wasn't going to do much good, I decided to file a complaint with BRP. I got a case number and they replied in a reasonably amount of time, but basically said nothing. BRP email said "In response to your request, your dealer could provide you with more information on the heat dissipation kit and panels we offer. I have noticed there is also a recall on the unit to be repaired as soon as possible, please get the unit into a dealership for a diagnosis." It would have been nice if they could have said what the recall was for. So, at this point I guess I will be contacting the dealer and take it in for repair. It will obviously still be covered under manufacturers warranty. What worries me though is unless something is done differently, the new bump stop they put on will be melted again after a few more rides. I am definitely going to have to talk with the dealer about how they are going to correct the issue long term.

Need help

I have a 2015 sportsman 570 I turn the ke on and nothing happens. I checked the battery I have 12volts but when I turn the key it drops to 5 volts. Any idea what might be wrong?

Easy/Hard/no start and rant-2000 Sportsman 500 4 cycle

Trying to figure out what looks to be a carb problem. Mikuni BST34.

Symptoms: When cold, engine starts immediately. Let it run for a while (anywhere from 30 seconds to 10 minutes) and the motor dies. Will not restart. Let is set for a while (an hour) and it starts immediately.

Have taken carb apart and cleaned everything, running thin wire thru the jets. Followed service manual (terrible index) to set carb to spec. That did not help. And when running and revved up, for a bit I could see small amounts of fuel coming out bottom of bowl although I could not see exactly where from.

Latebird suggested elsewhere that I should check the floats to make sure EtOH-containing fuel did not damage them. One does look a little weird. So ... and here's the rant ... I called the Polaris dealer and asked about floats. $75. WTF!? I had just bought a float bowl gasket (not needed) that must have cost about 25 cents to produce for which I paid ... $20!

Question: Where can I get reasonably priced parts, especially floats? Please name a company/website.

Question: Where can I find part numbers so I can determine if things for sale on eBay elsewhere) might work.

Sportsman 700 Carburetor WTF!?!?

My 2004 Sportsman 700 leaks fuel out of the carburetor overflow when you give it throttle. I rebuilt the carburetor and same thing. I REPLACED the carburetor and it still overflows when giving it throttle. What is going on?

Secondary question: The digital display on my 2015 Sportsman ETX no longer works. I plugged it into my friends 570 and got nothing so it is definitely the speedometer/guage pod that is not working. Are those things serviceable or just replace?

04 polaris sportsman 400 glacier plow gen 1

Found out that the mounting plate has been discontinued. I have the part #. But no luck anywhere. Anyone have any suggestions. Part #2874774

Primary bolt spec ?

Alright , I'm being lazy .
Anyone know the torque spec for the primary bolt on the G-1 500's ?
For some reason 74 keeps ringing in my head .....

’02 700 running poorly

I have replaced the fuel pump, plugs, rubber carb adapter and rebuilt the carb. Went through the carb with fine tooth comb and found no dirt or any problems. Starts fine, idles fine and runs up to about half throttle then just acts like a governor is kicking in. It is charging fine. I checked compression and it is fine. I know these are notorious for ignition problems and i am considering a RM Stator ac to dc ignition kit but just need to be sure it will fix it as it cost $250. Any ides that i have not covered?
