Check engine light

Is it supposed to come on before engaging the starter? It is a new bike. It starts and runs fine with no trouble lights after starting (engine light goes off).

I'd appreciate any help.

Thanks.

Please help: 2005 Traxter Max 650 Starter removal problem

Greetings from extremely remote Alaska,

Can someone help me with advice on how to remove the starter from my 2005 Traxter Max 650? I have removed the 3 bolts holding it to the engine block, but the starter will not budge when I try to pull it out. I have tried a small pry-bar and a hammer, but to no avail (probably because of the bad angle, not much room to work in) - and I don't want to simply hit it harder for fear that I'll mess something up. I'm thinking maybe some kind of rod (like a piece of rebar) and tapping straight onto the engine side of the starter (if I can catch a little edge with the bar) - if I can find a clear shot to put the bar into from the other side of the vehicle.

Anybody done this before? Any hints or clues are greatly appreciated!!!

TieRod Ends

Guys, time to replace my tierod ends, some play in them. What brand is everyone using? Allballs holding out for those who have tried them? Also, is it a big job? Just remove tie rods, measure or mark length of holes, replace ends and install and check toe alignment? Let me know if I am missing anything. Thanks

Bogging down and surging.

I have been fighting this problem for the last few days on my 93 trailboss 250. From a dead stop if i floor it it bogs then surges and then backfires. Now if i floor it from just a creep it takes off like a bat outta hell. I went through the whole carb and did a rebuild and blew everything out. New belt and cleaned/lubed the clutches. New air filter and plug. New fuel lines and fuel filter and flushed the tank and a new petcock. Is this normal or is there something wrong? Ive played with the carb settings and havent found a area where it helps. The plug after running down the road at full throttle looks great and at idle looks great. I did use a new plug for both tests. I did do a air leak test with starting fluid and all seals and boots were good.

On Road tiers?

I find myself spending lots of rides on road, have no choice- what can be done to make it a bit safer, other than driveling slowly? Can I use the ITP quadcross MX pro tires? They are much wider but I’m not sure if this is a valid solution to increase safety?
Also- how slow is slow? How do I know?

Color Code

How do I get the color code # for the Absolute Red used on the 2018 Outlander 1000r Max Xt?

Radiator problem? how bad is it?

Machine is not even 3 months old and it started to overheat with barely anything in it, I know nothing about radiator so i'm wondering if i broke it or its not supposed to be like that or what can i do to test it, its 2° C outside.

Warranty? should I start bugging my dealer? is it fixable? I had no problem with it until they cleaned it for my first maintenance.

Thank you.

Fall Color Tour

So last month i made a post asking questions on what i should bring with me on my/our first extended trip. Totally forgot to post up on how it went.

It started our pretty chilly (41*F) that morning. Really made me wish i had a better pair of gloves. So we learned a little on this ride as well. Thankfully we brought more clothing to keep ourselves warm so it wasn't a huge issue after the first stop.

I was in line sandwiched between experienced riders (quads to the front of us and 2 rzrs behind us). At the first stop (20 miles in) I/we had already started building up a reputation with the riders behind us. I wasn't afraid of the mud, or the screaming fiance on back lol!

First photo was at the 20 mile mark. We got back on the road after a potty and snack break.. I continued splashing through mud holes and puddles as went along. around the 80 mile mark (2nd Photo) we stopped for another pit stop and give the faster paced group more time for lunch. At this moment the two rzrs behind me are just laughing up a storm because my rain pants had almost ripped clean off and i was still hitting the mud holes just as head.

We eventually stopped for lunch, i ate quickly, and ran to top off the tank. When we got back in line we ended up behind the previously started rzrs. When i killed the motor the older gentlemen said "oh no, you do WAY too much stupid shit for you to be behind me. when we start moving, you get in front of us".. We all laughed and i agreed. Sadly for the fiance, knowing that they enjoyed my antics made me want to do it even more lol.

525 headlight upgrade

Hello everyone!

I have a 2010 Polaris Outlaw 525s and im interested in upgrading my headlight. I've seen HID kits, LED kits, and even people add light bars/pods. Im wondering what is the best replacement because I don't want to draw too much power and mess anything up. I live in Florida so It's hot and I can't risk losing my fan. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Michael Pallos

525 Steel back bumper

Hello everyone!

I'm very interested in having a custom rear grab bar made for my 2010 Polaris Outlaw 525s. I was going to have it made with steel pipe so that it can hold up to some abuse compaired to the stock bar and also the aftermarket aluminum bars. Does anyone have any insight on this or know anyone who has done this before with this particular quad?

Thanks,

Michael Pallos
