Hard shifting

Hey y'all, I'm a newbe. Can anyone tell me why my 2011 sportsman 850xp shifts fine when it's not running, but hardly shifts when it is. Possible clutch problem????

fuel problem or what?

Recently picked up a 96 trailboss. It runs great and all, but only when choke half on. Can't get the choke setting to "full on" to stay in position, so know this needs adjusting first of all. As it runs and idled good while half choked, as soon as I turn choke off, it will no longer idle. My daughter has been riding it just fine while choke is half on, but it bugs me that it doesn't run right with Choke off. How do I adjust?

96 Sportsman 500 Electrical Issues

My recently acquired 96 Sportsman 500 is still not up and running. Put a new battery in it, refilled fuel tank and changed the oil today. Tried to start it and nothing. No lights no buzzing no clicks.....nothing. Voltage good on new battery. Pulled front cover off and found a brown wire BBQ'd. It appears to go to the top of the engine on the right side with a bunch of other wires. I'm assuming this is going to the stator. What is my recommended next step?

1993 350 2 Stroke 4×4

Hi everyone new here. I bought this four wheeler about 2 years ago and have been working on it every now and then to Get it running right. When I bought it it wouldn’t idle all the time and so the next winter I went through cleaned and replaced everything in the carb. It worked for awhile after that and now it won’t work for me at all. It will only start up with a little bit of starter fluid in the air intake and will run for about 30 seconds. At the end of that it will increase in rpms and then just die. I’ve played around with the fuel and air intake screws and those don’t seem to change anything. It has a new spark plug. I ran a compression test today and it was 63 psi. It is a little cold up here right now. If anyone has any ideas of what it could be. I’ve racked my brain for months trying to figure it out and all the I know for sure at this point is I’m no mechanic and am stumped.

2009 Polaris 550 xp- greasy film in clutch housing

I just opened up the clutch housing in my newly purchased 2009 550 xp, and found that the plastic clutch cover seemed to have a greasy oily film all over the cover. The bike seemed to work fine, I just wanted to check the belt before a trip this weekend, but not sure if this greasy oily residue is normal. I will say there appears to be a slight valve cover leak, which is very close to where the breather inlet is for the belt cover......

Limit top speed of 570 DPS

I've had my Outlander for about a year (2 months pre-recall, 7 months of recall/can't use, and 3 months of can use--but that's a different discussion).

Anyway, I'm an old retired guy with about 20 acres in Missouri, which consists of a pretty extensive lawn that's not real level, a large pond, and about 14 acres of woods.

The ATV is used mostly for land maintenance and going fishing.

What I'm looking for is a way to temporarily limit the top speed of the Outlander. I use it to pull a Swisher mower, a sprayer, a spreader, a harrow...you get the idea. None of the things I pull with the ATV should really be pulled faster than 5 or 6 MPH, and it is fairly difficult to maintain a speed like that with the little thumb control. I know about the little limiting screw, but that's not a good solution.

What I'd like to find is something that could be controlled with a toggle switch so when I am working, I could just flip the switch and the top speed would be limited, but when I'm playing, it would perform like it does now.

Does such a thing exist?

Thanks for any advice.
