Best Desert Tires, BFG Baja TA

I'm not sure how many forum members are using a UTV in the desert, but if you are, take a look at BFG's Baja TA KR2 tires. I just put a set of BFG Baja TA's on my Maverick X3 based on the recommendation of the owner of our local Textron dealership. They just happen to sponsor the winner of this years Vegas to Reno desert race as well.

I had been looking at tires for a while, and had been considering these tires anyway, but after talking with the local shop, I decided to take their recommendation. I've ridden ATVs and UTVs for decades, and have tried countless different tires from most of the major brands. These are the best tires I've ever used for desert roads, where dry conditions, gravel, and rocks are common. In fact, nothing else even comes close. Their straight line tracking, smoothness, and lateral grip on tractionless gravel turns is nothing short of phenomenal. They come in the 32x9.50R-15 size I am using, and a smaller 30" size if you don't quite want to run 32s on your UTV.

Difference between G1 and G2 brackets

Hi guys.

I'm new to Can-Am's and ATV's.

I got my self a 2014 Can-Am Outlander, and I need tracks for the winter.

There is a guy, some miles away that is selling Tatous 4S, that he have been using on his Can-Am 800 2008.

Does the brackets that he was using, fit mine?
He had a G1, and I've got G2. Will it fit?

Thanks!

Polaris Outlaw Starter shredding gears

We Recently purchased our daughter a 2016 Polaris Outlaw 110. The ATV is in relatively Good shape. Last weekend I noticed the starter made a terrible cracking sound when she was starting up to go riding. I pulled the belt cover off and saw several teeth missing on the gear that meshes with the starter Bendix. The gear in question Meshes with the fly wheel/idle gear. I pulled everything apart and replaced that gear, and left the starter as is. We started it up and “crack” the same thing happened. Once the starter gets hung in the area with sheared off teeth, I’m guessing it burns up because it won’t turn the Bendix anymore. I Had a starter that I purchased from eBay, like a $30 unit. I put that starter on and tried again and, of course, more teeth sheared off the new gear and the same thing happened with the starter. I’m at loss at to what can be causing this. Please see the pics below of the two starter bendix and one of the gears I replaced. Any help would be appreciated!

is the oem can am outlander air filter washable?

Can we wash and re-oil the stock filter, or does it need to be changed to a washable filter?

This one

If not, have you switched to a cleanable filter or not? Which one?
Or do you just keep the stock filter, blow off the dust once in a while and replace when blocked?

Service manual

Hey guys could someone send me the service manual for 2004 magnum 330, I can only find the owners manual that tells you maintenance and safety stuff not the actual repair instructions. Thanks !

Oil change whew

Just bought an '18 Outlander Max XT 850. It now has 23H45 hrs and I just performed the 1st oil change because supposedly the 1st one is the most important, so I did it earlier than the manual recommends. Can't hurt, right? For the life of me I can't figure out why BRP didn't put a simple access door in the front fender to access the oil filter without having to take the bike almost completely apart. Gonna figure out a way to make a door with a couple of hinges or 4 bolts for easier access. Before I start brain storming I was wondering if anyone knew of a mod that makes it easier to get to the oil filter without having to remove a bunch of stuff?

Tips for greasing front end?

So every grease fitting on my 2017 Sportsman 850 is easily accessible except the front upper control arms. The front two zerks on these a arms is almost impossible to get to. With the front diff vent line, frame and additional wiring I almost need to take the front end apart to get to them. Does anyone have any advice on how to get to these two zerks for proper maintenance?
