i recently got the 97 scrambler 500 4x4 and it cranked and ran great for the first month then i had to replace starter and solenoid and i went to Polaris and purchased factory oils and gear lube and i did a service. now even though my batt has 12.6v it will only start if i connect the ac batt charger. then it runs fine until shut off. can anyone give me some suggestions on why that is?
Question regarding the 850 Touring
I am in the market for a 2 seater. I previously had an 05 Sportsman 500HO. Some things drove me away. EBC and single lever braking got me in trouble at times. I now have a newer Grizzly 700 SE. There's nothing I dislike about it, but I have a need to pack 2 up on occasion.
The Yamaha is dead nuts reliable and works very well.
Are the newer generation units more effective in terms of ADC and EBS. I know there is a fix for the single lever braking if I don't feel that I am adapting.
I live and ride in NE NV. I live at 5700' and routinely ride to 10,000' I do 125 mile rides often. Mostly remote 50 year old 2 tracks.
What can I expect in performance and reliability with an 18 or 19 Sportsman 850 or 1000? Does the 1000 get appreciably worse fuel economy?
Any information you could share would be appreciated!

so…..I weighed my Outlander 1000 Max today
It was weighed fully setup with how I ride it. Full trunk on back, two full 3gal RotoPax and my front bags loaded with a bunch of tools, air compressor, belt, etc. Also have my rear cargo area plum full with tow straps and bungees.
Basically like you see it in my avatar, but with the Can Am soft bags on the front rack and not the big trunk with chainsaw.
1,190 lbs!
Add me, 200lbs, and you are talking about a 1,400lb setup. Yep, and it still gets air just fine when riding the Harrison Hills/Parish highlands trails north of me.

06 Outlander 400 fuel pump conversion
Has anyone tried to upgrade from the manual fuel pump to electric? I already replaced the pump and it seems to still be acting up and ready to convert over to an electric.

Thinking About Joining the Club!
Hello everyone. Currently looking at purchasing a Outlander Max XT. Definitely need the "2-up" version to be legal where we ride. Considering the 650 or 850, or maybe even splurging and looking at the Max XT-P in 850. Coming from the Polaris brand, knowing that every brand has it's know issues. So, I have a couple of questions and I am looking for some input.
1. What are the know issues with the Outlander ATVs?
2. Thoughts on overall quality and long term dependability.
3. Thoughts on Rotax 650 vs 850 engine.
thanks

28×10 silverbacks for g2 outlander
Does anyone have 28x10x12 silverbacks on a g2 outlander? I’m wondering if I will need wheel spacers for the back? And should I be running a aftermarket secondary clutch spring? Thanks

Outlander Max ?s
I am considering purchasing a Max. I currently have a newer Grizzly 708 SE. It has plenty of power, but occasionally I need another seat.
I am new to CanAm. The heat on the left side won't bother me, I have a prosthetic leg.
There is a good deal on a 17 570 Max at my dealer. I am a bit concerned if it has enough power. It has the same power as my Grizz, but weighs more and when packing two large adults it seems I might want at least a 650?
I also need the best fuel range. I live in NE NV and routinely ride 125+ miles. I will carry at least a 2g or a 4g Rotopak.
Any Max experiences are appreciated!

1000 CVT cover bolt spinning
I was removing my CVT cover when I found one bolt just spins and doesn't come out. The nut that is molded into the back casing is spinning with the bolt. I had to grid the head off the bolt to remove the cover.
My question is... how important is it to have all the bolts in. This one happens to be at the top right corner. I would have to continue grinding to remove the bolt and nut, and then install a longer bolt and nut. I don't want to make my problem worse and damage my case in any way.
