Have a great machine just looking for something different. Adult owned and not sure if this is the right place to post it. It's red with 30 hours and 220 miles. Text is best 757-651-2421. I'm in the Chesapeake Virginia Beach area.

Newbie …love the xp , some help?

New to Polaris atvs but not new to toys , I've got an older Kodiak 400 but she's tired and wants to rest... Also own a 09 yamaha Apex , and mxz 600 (snowmobiles) .. I turned wrenches for almost 8 years in a body shop .. I know my way around machines, and a tool box, Question is .. considering very seriously a sportsman 1000.... Preference to a 2016-2017 , 1000xp touring .. as I'll try to bring the wife , but whatever I can find and budget allows ... What exactly should I be looking at on theese for problems or what are the expected problems with these perticular models .. I've seen some things on clutchs that lock up , front diffs exploding ... and something about a wiring harness under the Gage cluster getting rubbed raw ...if u guys could point me in the right direction and give me some guidence , with anything regarding 2016-2017 sportsman 1000xp, appreciate any help I can get , THANKS !

New to Forum and Can Am

Hello I’m new to Can Am, we own a 2018 Defender Max Lonestar, and about to pick up an Outlander 450 and an Outlander 450 Max.

Would like to know what’s the best wheel and tire set up for these 450’s? Nothing aggressive at all. Just better looking and slightly larger for a better ride and stability than the stockers. Thanks!!

2003 sportsman 500 brakes

Hello,
My 03 sportsman 500 is having issues with the brakes.

When parked, the front brake handle is stiff to squeeze and the brakes are working.

As soon as I start driving, the brake handle goes soft when I try to squeeze it and the brakes don't work in the front.

When I take my thumb off the gas and start slowing down, a few pumps of the handle will
stiffen the handle up again and atv stops fine.

When driving, I can squeeze the brake handle as much as I want and it won't stiffen up until I'm slowing down or stopped.

The rear brake had 2 broken bleed valves, so I replaced the whole caliper and bled the whole system.

I'm starting to think there is still air in there somewhere or that my front master cylinder is shot.

Just thought it was weird that the brakes only stop working when the atv is moving and seem to work fine when parked or slowing down.

Has anyone seen anything like this before? any ideas?

Thanks,

2000 Xplorer 250 4×4 new guy questions

I have a 2000 Xplorer 250 4x4. Need to replace the front left wheel strut bearing was wondering if there is a another vehicle that uses the same bearing so i would be able to get it from local auto parts house

Other question the electric start dont work but pull starts easy. But i put a battery in it and now when i put it in either reverse or 4x4 it will die but with either one it will work with the override button but if the battery is disconnected dont have to use override. Thanks for any help in advance

90 TB250 acts like it has an engine brake

Hello, I have a 1990 Trail Boss 250 that is in very nice shape. I think it has been very well maintained from all indications. The problem I am having is that the four wheeler seems to take an inordinate amount of throttle to make it go. Once rolling, the second I take my thumb off of the throttle it slows down like it has engine breaking instead of just coasting. The brakes aren't binding, as it rolls easily in Neutral. I have changed belts to see if that would help. The belt also seems to have correct deflection. The transmission has the correct fluid, and is full. When I pulled the clutch cover and found a green spring so I replaced it with the blue/green that is recommended. The primary clutch seems to work correctly. I have not watched the secondary. The other thing that I am curious about is that the input shaft seems to be tied directly to the output shaft even in Neutral. If I put the ATV in neutral and rev it up the rear disc spins, which in itself may not be too unusual, but if I pull the brake lever it decreases the rpm like it is putting a load on the engine. So as it sits, it looks like I have an issue with either the secondary clutch or the transmission. My gut says transmission, but I hope not. I would appreciate any insight as to wether this is a normal condition or, if not, how to fix it. Thanks in advance, Dave
