Suspension hits Hard on Rebound – Can Am Outlander XMR 850

I’ve had my 2017 Can Am Outlander XMR 850 for about 3 months now with only 50 hours. When I first had the bike it rode like a dream. However, now, I have an extreme issue with the front suspension. Recently, when I drive, the bike feels as if someone is hitting the frame of the bike with a hammer when the front shocks top out (tires come off the ground). As soon as the suspension reaches full extension (front), sounds like a loud knock on the frame. I have already messed around with the preload, but this has not solved anything. I have set the preload, to where my springs are completely loose, and I still have the same noise when the suspension reaches full extension. Also, I have taken off the shocks from the bike, and the Fox Podium Shocks are super hard to compress! I can’t compress these shocks with my life! Is this even normal? Are my shocks blown? Are you able to compress them by hand? Please I need your help! I can’t drive with this problem, it literally hits my frame hard when I hit a bump. I’ve seen a couple of threads with my similar issue but no solution. Please help!

cam lift ?

Hi I have the cover off and the rockers seem to lift the same. Is there a way to measure lift without cam removal, if so how ? If I have to replace the cam what do you recommend ? 99 Big Boss 500
thanks.

Not any owner yet but giving it some thought

Hi there people I will likely just lurk for a while as I am still trying to decide if I want a Can-Am, Honda or Polaris, though l am leaning heavily towards Can-Am because we have local dealer and their current incentives. Right now the Can-Am is offering a 5 year warrantee on the L series which the 570 apparently falls into so I am currently leaning very heavily toward the Outlander 570 Hunter addition. It to me looks like one heck of a good deal.

I've owed a 2005 Outlander 500 and Sportsman 850. I was honestly happy with both. Right now I am trying to figure out if want another ATV or not. Ok that's now really true I want one but which one.

I keep thinking the 650 XT might be nice for the extra power but am still on the fence. Also thinking of the Max in either the 570 or the 650 so that I have room for my or daughter to come out with me occasionally. I don't really think either of them will come out that often so wonder if it's worth getting or just get a seat for the rear rack for the few times they come with me. So if any of you have any experience between the 570 and the 650 or the single seat vs the Max I would honestly appreciate some user insight.

Thanks in advance.

NEWB Here

Just traded for a 1996 Magnum 425. The PO stated it would run for a while then stop. After cleaning plug it would run again. WRONG! Tore into fuel system. No gas in the system except for about 2 gallons of awful smelling old gas!. I'll be posting in the forums before long as I go thru it. Happy to find this forum. Looking forward to interacting.

Hey all, so was wondering if anyone been on texas creek? I am planning to go there with my polaris to try out all the black diamonds and wondering if there is anything to watch out for.

Ive done most of penrose blacks and same with all the other tougher trails. Wondering if it is like penrose or a little more easier

2019 Outlander 450 stalls

I have as the title reads a 19 Outlander 450 that has an issue with stalling. I have about 60 miles on it and it’s happened since day 1. Starts right up, isles fine, and runs fine. The issue is, if it’s been idling and I have it in gear and I just hit the gas to go it’ll stall. Starts back up fine then goes. I can avoid this if I “feather” the gas to start. For instance, yesterday I was driving around in low picking up sticks. I’d stop, put the parking break on, hop off, get on, disengage the PB and hit the gas and every few times it stalls.
I brought it to the dealer for the first maintenance and told them. They changed the spark plug and told me that’s “norma” operation for the 450 because of “new emissions laws”. This sounds insane to me. I have a 2019 that’s “supposed” to stall? What do you guys think?

2016 850SP idle

Happy new year everyone,

I have a minor issue with my 2016 850SP. Lately the idle tends to oscillate between 1200 and 1300 rpm, it just sits there and goes up and down. It is not a big issue right now but I am worried that it might be symptomatic of something that might be failing. Any ideas of cause or what i should be looking at?

Thanks

T-MAP Sensor Code..help identify?

Wife and I have 2012 & 2013 850’s. Both bikes (what a coincidence) threw code 102 2 one the same weekend. I looked in service manual. It relates as P0106 which is TMap. Also, the 2 code states “Signal Out of Range”. I did replace the sensor but still have same issue. I did see older post which indicated harness issues. any ideas on how to test the harness? Thx
