2002 sportsman 4×4 ho 500 cc

Hi. I'm a new ATV owner, it's my first ATV and I'm in mexico. There is a lit of work to do but it's fun for me. I've just ordered a few parts on ebay but I dont find a few headligth pod inner part.. just found the switch there is a little loose hose and some electrical connector i guess is to some light indicators. I have an address in el paso tx. Hope you can help me finding that.. tks and Im at your service here en chihuahua mexico.

Stuck In The Slush

Winter is approaching and I've got my first ATV. I'm a longtime snowmobiler so slush has never bothered me, just pinch the throttle and let the 3" paddletrack do its thing. Now I'm going to be riding across the lake where smaller bays can have thin ice or slush over water, like a ice sandwich with a liquid center. I'm worried about getting stuck. So far I've got two solutions in mind but am looking for more ideas from those with experience.

#1 - I've got a piece of 1/2" rebar that I ground to a point on one end. I figure that I can pound that into solid ice with a mallet and attach my winch to it if I'm away from shore.

#2 - Always stay near shore as much as possible, so that I have a tree nearby for winching.


Any other thoughts? My Xplorer came with new mud tires, but I also got the old tires with the chains already on. Hopefully they do a good job but slush can slow down just about anything.

2nd ride of the weekend

We went on two rides this last weekend, the 2nd was after church to an area called Pipestone. I've been avoiding that area since we started riding due to the fact that it is a very popular area #1, and #2, when busy there are people going all different directions. There are trails for motorcycles, ATV's, and street legal 4x4's all interspersed together and crossing over one another. The motorcycles being the biggest concern in my opinion. We just experienced just a small touch of what I had heard about the day we went. We started at a staging area or trail head called 4 corners. From there rode to a really cool landmark/ attraction called ringing rocks. It is a pile of rocks that looks like an enormous mining truck dumped these the pile on the edge of a hill. This pile covers about 2 acres and is probably 60-70 feet high. The weird part about these rocks is if you hit them with a hammer it sounds as if they are made of metal. They are like huge gongs or anvils, each with a different tone. If the any part of the rock is separated from the main body it will not ring or gong. People have tried to remove them from the Poole to take home and once they are dislodged from their position they won't ring our gong. There are only 3 places in the world that have these rocks, one is here, a place in Pennsylvania, and the 3rd is in Australia. I have lived 60 miles from them almost my entire life and had never been there before. Very interesting landscape not what we are used to riding in. Pretty cool!

Remove fuel tank on 13 scrambler 850 video

Looking for a video or guide on how to Remove fuel tank on 2013 scrambler 850ho.

I ran it a little bit in my driveway today checking things and the fuel line from the efi poped. Just want to be sure I know what I'm doing when I take off the fuel tank to get to the hose. Anyone else ever have that happen?

Outlander L?

I keep seeing items that say they are for the Outlander L. What exactly Does the L mean?

I am new to the ATV scene and have bought a 2018 570 MAX DPS Is it what they consider an L model? Google and the search here have been zero help.

Outlander 570 1 year review

Bought my Outty almost a year ago to the day, figured I'de give some likes and dislikes about my machine. I have the base 570, put bighorns and Podiums on have 1400 miles on it.

Pros:
570 is a overachiever for sure, I run with my buddies outlander 650s, grizzlys, KQ750 and Brute Force. The 650 will slowly pull away and top end me but its not much difference. Grizzly 700, we are about the same till top end and I have a little more. KQ I'm just faster all around. Brute crushes me off the line but I can slowly creep back on him. 570 is a great motor. I just put a cvtech on it and am still tuning it, but wow the off the line is crazy, I can wheelie at will just like a brute now.

Comfort- I really like the overall ride, I just have the base model so no power steering, so I can imagine that makes it even better.

Quality- Just looks good and everything fits together nicely, everything is easy to get at.

Cons:
Clutch noise, everyone that has a can am knows, I put gates on and helped a lot, but still annoying sometimes.

Suck stock suspension- Again everyone knows how soft they come, I put podiums on and helped a lot

Diff Drains- WTH was can am thinking using these dinky little alan screw:-)

Thats pretty much it, Overall very happy with my choice, I took a chance getting the Can am, almost bought a Kodiak 700. I've been riding Ski Doo forever and will never buy another brand so I figured I'd give BRP a try with the atvs. So hopefully its reliable for years to come! Four guys in our group all switched over to Can am from Japanese brands in the last year, and with about 7000 combined miles wer'e all loving them
