Model Specific Tire Advice? Pro’s please help!

Hi guys, I'm shopping for my 3rd Polaris (sold others and upgrading)...looking for a 2017 Sportsman 850 SP and need of advice.

1) I'm assuming I can put on a 28" tire with no modifications or issues?

2) If I go with a 28" won't I gain about an inch of ground clearance?

3) Looking for tire advice! I ride about 40% snowy frozen lake, 25% ditch, 25% trail (we ride through plenty of mud on trails don't hunt for it), 10% deep snowplowing. Couple notes.. When we ride it's about 50% moderately fast trail riding, 50% slow technical, and some smaller wet muddy holes to go through on trail. My priority is the ATV looking mean, confidence & ability to get through deep snow and some occasional mud, yet maintaining a somewhat a decent ride at speed. Obviously I realize there will be some sacrifice to go with an aggressive tire.

I've attached a picture of what I think would be awesome, but I bet this would be horrendous on dry trails? Any suggestions based on my riding and criteria? I'd love something ultra aggressive, yet tolerable on dry trails.

What would you point me to?!

2017 Sportsman 450 HO voltage problem

First let me intro myself. I'm a 69 yr old ex military pilot and certified Geezer. My one year old 450 developed a condition that would not charge the battery while running. Battery finally dropped enough to not start the engine. My bad, after I took the battery out, l found it was very low on electrolyte. Filled it up and it charged to full but I figured I'd toasted it so I put in a new one. Didn't fix the problem. Here are the symptoms:
1. turn key on and volts read 11,5;
2. start engine and volts read 11.3-11.5 at idle and remain there;
3. rev engine to about 3500 rpm and voltage jumps to 13.6-13,9 and fluctuates between those numbers;
4. turn on low beams and volts drop to 11.5 until I rev to 3500 then back to 13,6+ volts ;
6. start driving in H about 10 mph and voltage starts fluctuating between 12.3 and 13.6.

Anyone experienced this phenomena? Loose/broken wire or loose connection or bad regulator? I do most of the small maintenance myself but not very knowledgeable about the stator/regulator systems on ATV's.

Goes without saying that I would appreciate any tips / advice on this. Thanks !!!

High Pitched Squeal

2015 Outlander 800, 500 miles on it. Just bought it used. Really looked new when I got it. Just did the 100 Hr maintenance (only had 76 hrs on it) at dealer $639 worth. Has annoying squeal in neutral and park and when cruising. Squeal goes away in gear and just idling but returns louder as you accelerate and cruise. It definitely is coming from the clutch drive belt area.
I had put a Gates Belt on it, dealer Tech told me to use only OEM Can Am belts the others can damage the clutch plates. He replaced it with a Can Am belt. This sounds like hog wash to me. Any advise would be appreciated

Polaris xplorer 250 white smoke

I have a 2000 Polaris Xplorer 250 vin number 4xaag25c0y2152978. I recently changed the 2-cycle engine oil to yamalube, since then every time I start the quad a lot of white smoke fills the air. It lost power and the smoking does not stop. It may be coincidence or not. Who can tell me what is wrong with her. Should I change the oil? what is the best 2 cycle oil for Polaris? Is there a problem with the carburetor? Please someone help me. I want to use my quad and I can't, Thanks.

Throttle issue Polaris 500 HO 2008

Hello,

I have a 2008 Polaris 500 HO that throttles up whenever I turn to the left or to the right. When I straighten out the handle bars, the throttle goes back to normal.

I tried swapped out the throttle cable, but the original moves easily and replacing it didn't fix the issue. My guess is that I have not routed the cable properly, but I just cannot find the right route. It isn't related to the choke cable, as I can grab that one and move it all over without the rpms changing.

If anyone would be able to give me a description, or even better, pictures of the throttle cable routing for my quad or one with the same routing design, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thank you.
