2012 sportsman 800efi front diff leak

Hey all!

I just noticed that my front differential is leaking. It's not a major leak but bad enough that I need to change the pinion seal. With that I've scoured the forums and pretty much figured out how to do it. The problem is I can't seem to find the parts online. On partszilla I can only seem to find it for an 850 or a 570. Also will the John Deere seals work?

Lastly I found a free copy of the 2008 800efi shop manual. Manual should work with my bike?

Thanks for the help,

Tyler

2007 sportsman 500….speedometer irratic

So I just put new wheel bearings all around, new rotors and pads all around, 2" lift and new tires. Love the new look and feel! Everything works as it should except the speedo? It just jumps around (awd still works) Worked perfectly before all the new parts. What did I miss? Thanks

650 max

Hi all, new to the forum not to can am, have a 06 outlander 400. My new 650 max is pretty sweet!

Idle dropping low polaris 850

So, recently I had a few problems come up on my 2011 sportsman 850 xp.

The first thing I noticed is during start up when the RPMs reach 900 the engine stumbles for a bit and then it climbs up to 1200. I never noticed this before. The only thing I recently did was install the starter relay upgrade kit.

The second was while riding around the yard i noticed when I would let of the throttle the RPMs would drop to around 1000 rpms and it sounded like it wanted to stall out.

The bike idles perfect at 1200 +/- 20 rpms. Sometimes now when its idling and I hit the throttle real quick, it drops really low, around 1000 rpms. Other times it doesn't. The throttle cable is only a year old and I have made sure it is adjusted to the 2-3mm gap.

I am lost on what could be causing this. Any thoughts?

TBAP harness

I have a 2011 sportsman 800 that I bought used. The wiring going to the TBAP harness was disconnected. I have a new harness but no idea which wires attach to which on the new harness. Can anyone help?

Sportsman stalls

2008 Sportsman 500 HO will idle fine, but as soon as the gas is applied, it stalls. The check engine will come on while its gasping to run. The issue was intermittent and the dealer could not duplicate - all tuned up, fresh gas...any ideas?

Thanks!

top end rattle

Long story short .... recent routine maintenance uncovered antifreeze in the oil - not in a large quantity but it was apparent. Engine was running great, no smoke and no weird noises. Today....New head gasket and inner seal in the water pump installed, engine buttoned up and fresh 0w40 oil and filter installed. Now I have a definite rattle on the top end and I'm thinking maybe I missed a torque on a rocker .... take a listen and give me your thoughts .. thanx !

Purchased 2017 Outlander 570 XT last year this was my first Can AM and was real excited to bring home and show off to friends and ride a new ATV. My fist long ride was H&M trails three-day ride over 200 miles no issues. First impressions nice soft seat, DPS was great, loads of power, turning on a dime nice in the woods. Most of my riding is in Eastern NC trails riding with some mud. I don’t believe in sinking it or spending hours just spinning tires. Fast forward and to date here my thoughts and frustrations with this ATV. The ATV has just over 1000 miles, and I don’t abuse to ATV. When it comes to maintenance I am over the top and don’t patch things up never.
1. Radiator cooling fan motor crapped out, replaced with aftermarket fan $ 90 due to CAN AM only offers new fan and support bracket only all in one over $ 200 to replace.
2. Rear universal crapped out $ 40 to replace.
3. Radiator cooling expansion tank cracks leaks $ 30 to replace.
4. Rear diff right side oil seal crapped out $ 20 to replace.
5. Winch and control wiring quit working $ 300 to replace.
6. Brake pads go through them so fast that I have to order ahead and keep on hand $ 40 a set X 4 sets for the year.
7. DPS would fail on every ride at least 3-4 times. Then received notice that the DPS was under recall. Quad sat at dealer for over 8 weeks to replace. So my ride time was cut short for two months. If not for the recall the DPS is $ 700 to replace.
8. Speedometer crapped out only shows current gear mode and gas level. $ 200 to replace. My decision is to wait on this replacement.
Conclusion I’m not afraid of wrenching on a machine as long as I have the service manual with me or friends/UTUBE to help me through the repairs. I spend more time wrenching on this ATV than riding which puts me in a GRUMPY mood. The heat issue on the left side is ridicules brutal and yes I used header wrap, with all the power it smokes the gas on rides IMO. I’ve had enough of Can AM overpriced parts and this quad can just sit covered up for now. I’m paying it off as fast as possible then CL it. Thank God I have the best wife, she asked me can you survive on (beans and whinnies) for ten years? Just kidding!!!! She asked if you could do it over again what would you buy. My answer a Honda for reliability. So off to the Honda dealer we go, came home with a 2018 Forman Rubicon A6 model. My wife rides the 2016 A7 model and over two years of riding in all kinds of conditions no issues AT ALL……….
Sincerely
